My Instructional Design Philosophy
I believe every instructional design process includes:
-a deep understanding of adult pedagogy
(I’ve been an educator/learner my entire life with degrees and credentials from 3 different colleges, and certifications up the wazoo. I’ve spent a grand total of one year out of a classroom since I entered Montessori at 2 to train and educate people on Apple Products and learn how to found a startup. Plus… according to UCLA, I’m a Master of Education!)
-in-depth learning analysis;
(Who are the learners, What can they do now & What do they need to be able to do?)
-intentional and focused learning activities that don’t put you to sleep
(I want the knowledge gained to be sticky, not just in one ear and out the other)
-meticulous growth in instructional content through evaluation and data
(How do I know anybody learned anything? Were the training sessions useful or did the learners do the bare minimum to pass the test or certification and never think about the information again?
